Arcanes se fait remarquer au Festival de la Fiction de la Rochelle

December 2025

Arcanes, the Belgian Murder Mystery of the moment, made a strong impression during its presentation at the 27th edition of the Festival de la Fiction in La Rochelle. Inspired by real events and rooted in the history of the Low Countries, this series stands out as a unique, captivating, and deeply human work.

And the numbers speak for themselves. In the week following its release, Arcanes was streamed 120,000 times on Auvio, making it one of RTBF’s most-watched series on the digital platform. Each broadcast achieved significant audience shares, reaching 17.5% among viewers aged 4+ and 19.2% among those aged 35+ for the first episodes.

With its unpredictable plot, an investigation as mysterious as it is gripping, and clues that constantly reshuffle the deck, Arcanes keeps viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. What truly sets the series apart is its originality. In an era when technology didn’t allow investigations to be solved with just a few clicks, Arcanes brings detective work and puzzle-solving back to the heart of storytelling - a refreshing approach that contrasts with contemporary productions. Adding to this uniqueness is the book Nessuna, which offers a tender and poetic child’s perspective on a reality that is often harsh.

Arcanes is the result of an ambitious European co-production between RTBF and Beluga Tree, driven by the bold vision of Michèle Jacob, a director as talented as she is inspiring.
